Chinese cinema lets moviegoers bring their dogs to watch 'Zootopia 2'
In recent days, Zootopia 2, the long-awaited sequel to the classic IP after nine years, has attracted widespread attention since its release. Following its simultaneous debut in mainland China and North America, the film quickly became a box-office dark horse, breaking multiple records for imported animated movies and sparking extensive discussion among audiences.
To draw more viewers to theaters and accommodate pet owners who wished to watch the film with their animals, a cinema in Changchun, Jilin Province, organized a special “pet-friendly screening” of Zootopia 2. The event allowed moviegoers to bring their pets into the auditorium, offering both owners and their furry companions a unique viewing experience.
The cinema made special preparations for this event, including providing pet diapers and lowering the movie’s audio volume.
According to participants, 149 people attended the screening with a total of 90 pets. Many dogs were bathed and groomed beforehand, and owners voluntarily put diapers on them. The venue remained clean throughout, and viewers described the opportunity to watch a movie alongside their pets as a truly special experience.
