Enthusiasts in Qitaihe City, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, have been enjoying outdoor sports activities despite the plummeting temperature recently. The city's lowest temperature has dropped to below minus 20 degrees Celsius these days, turning a local lake into a perfect ice rink where dozens of skating enthusiasts would enjoy themselves to the full. "I'm 72 years old now, and I fell in love with skating when I was still a teenager. No matter how cold the winter gets, my passion never dies down," said local resident Meng Binsheng. The city also has a popular winter swimming spot - a roughly 30-square-meter swimming pool carved out on frozen water surface. "I've been a cold-water swimmer for over a decade. It is often called a game for the brave, as we've kept challenging the bitter cold and pushing our limits," said enthusiast Zhang Chuanjiang.
