Netherlands: Amsterdam Light Festival: The city transforms into a light museum during winter
Amsterdam, Netherlands - November 30, 2025 Most of the Amsterdam Light Festival installations are displayed along the canals and even on the water, as has been the case for the previous thirteen editions. Amsterdam residents, familiar with the spectacle, book their seats in advance on the traditional boats that cruise the canals, as viewing the festival from the water is the most spectacular way to experience it. The displays are illuminated at different times depending on the day: on weekdays they begin around 4:30–5:00 pm, when it is already dark, and remain lit until 10:00 or 11:00 pm.
