Chickens were among the animals that survived the mud-soaked flash floods in West Sumatra.

Flash floods struck Salareh Aia, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra.

183 people were killed in the flash floods that struck Salareh Aia Village, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. Hundreds of homes were severely damaged or even lost, and some cattle were even killed. This time there was something a bit strange I saw, this rooster was standing on the rubble of a building damaged by a flash flood. This chicken's entire body was covered in mud that stuck to it, which we suspect this chicken had just survived being able to get out of the mud from the flash flood that had submerged its cage. The reason is, two days after the flash flood the weather was raining continuously, if this chicken had been exposed to rain, its feathers would have been clean, I suspect this chicken had just come out of the mud, on the 5th day after the flash flood, when I videoed this chicken. The location was in Sawah Laweh, Nagari Salareh Aia, Palembayan District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province.
