China earthquake shakes homes as terrified residents flee outside
Homes shook as a magnitude 5.8 earthquake jolted northwest China today.
Footage shows lights and chandeliers swaying as the tremor rocked buildings in Aksu Prefecture, with terrified residents fleeing their houses.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the quake struck 138 kilometres (85.7 miles) off Tumxuk county in the Xinjiang region at 3:44 pm local time, with the epicentre at a depth of 10 kilometres (6.2 miles).
There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
