Experience the dramatic rescue operation in Meureudu, Pidie Jaya, where devastating flash floods have submerged Aceh. Watch brave volunteers navigate flooded streets in boats, risking their lives to evacuate trapped residents from their waterlogged homes, demonstrating incredible community spirit. The flood that struck their area in Blang Awee Village, Meureudu Subdistrict, Pidie Jaya Regency, Aceh, was extremely severe.

Many houses were swept away, heavily damaged, or buried under towering piles of mud. Geographically, Blang Awee Village is located by a river and not far from the Pidie Jaya Regent's Office.

Midah recounted that the incident began in the early hours of Wednesday (November 26) at around 2:00 AM WIB, when heavy rain poured down. At the time, they thought it was just normal rain and did not expect the Krueng Blang Awee River to overflow.

However, around 6:00 AM WIB, Midah and other residents were shocked as water began rapidly entering their homes, carrying wood debris and tree branches.

“About two hours after the water entered the house, I was shocked—this water was different. This wasn't just water, it was mud,” Hamidah told CNNIndonesia.com when met at an evacuation tent on Saturday (November 29).
