US, Phoenix: Phoenix Fairmount Avenue Ruptured Water Main

Phoenix, United States - December 07, 2025 12/07/2025 3:00 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – A water main rupture near Fairmount Avenue and 32nd Street sent thousands of gallons of high-pressure water shooting approximately 60 feet into the sky. The rupture caused a large sinkhole in the middle of Fairmount Avenue. According to Phoenix Water Department employees at the scene, the 6-inch high-pressure main ruptured around 3:00 a.m. Approximately 100 homes are without water services due to the rupture. City workers were expected to remain at the scene throughout the morning and into the day as repairs were made. Residents in the area can expect a several-hour water service disruption during the repair. Phoenix police officers had closed Fairmount Avenue between 33rd Place and 33rd Street.
