Costa met with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Ak Orda Presidential Palace.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed cooperation in various fields, primarily logistics, digitalization, energy, critical minerals, and agriculture.

President Tokayev noted that the visit held symbolic significance as it coincided with the 10th anniversary of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement signed between Kazakhstan and the EU. Tokayev pointed out that Kazakhstan was the first country in the region to sign such a historic agreement with the EU.

Tokayev stressed that the EU holds over $200 billion in investments in Central Asia's largest country, with over 4,000 European-capitalized companies currently operating actively in Kazakhstan.

President Costa stated that the EU stands ready for comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan. Costa emphasized that Kazakhstan, currently the world’s third-largest supplier of oil and uranium, plays an important role in securing Europe’s economic security.
