LYON, FRANCE - DECEMBER 4, 2025: The press presentation of the 2025 Lyon Festival of Lights installations was held on Thursday night, ahead of the official public opening on Friday.
The city announced that this year’s edition will run from December 5 to 8, with illuminated installations and outdoor light shows presented each evening from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Born from a local tradition dating back to 1852, when residents placed candles (“lumignons”) in their windows to thank the Virgin Mary, the festival has evolved into an internationally renowned event blending heritage, contemporary art, and cutting-edge lighting design.
The four-night celebration typically attracts around 2 million visitors.
