CHICAGO, US (DECEMBER 6, 2025) (ANADOLU-ACCESS ALL)
CHICAGO, US - DECEMBER 6: US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem attended Chicago's annual "Christmas Tree Ship" ceremony at Navy Pier on Saturday, where a peaceful protest occurred nearby.

A group of demonstrators gathered, holding signs and chanting through a bullhorn regarding immigration operations in Chicago.

The protesters were initially positioned closer to the event site but were later moved further back by Chicago Police. By approximately 9:30 a.m., although reportedly off the Navy Pier property, their chants could still be heard in the area as Secretary Noem participated in the tree-unloading ceremony.

The Homeland Security Secretary helped unload more than 1,200 donated Christmas trees from the US Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw. The trees, provided by the Chicago Christmas Ship Committee, are intended for local families in need.
