This is the dramatic moment a rescue team assists a damaged leisure boat off the coast of Spain.

Footage shows emergency responders from Salvamento Maritimo inspecting the recreational vessel on December 7 under a clear blue sky.

Rescuers wearing bright orange safety gear were seen operating equipment and appeared to be dewatering the boat to prevent further flooding.

Authorities said: 'Recreational boats have a shallow draft and small bilges that fill quickly. If you discover water on board, test it.

'If it is fresh, there is a leak in the potable water tank and you can relax. If it is saltwater and warm, it comes from the engine cooling system - locate the leak. If it is saltwater and cold, there is a hull breach. Immediately find the source, as you could lose the boat.'
