Info from Licensor: "My son received a 3D printer for his birthday. Amongst other useful items for me that he has printed, the soda can opener solved a problem I didn't know I had. I thought it was such a great idea! I have long nails and often ask him to open cans, use a butter knife or risk it bending and hurting my nail. Although he did not design the print himself, he did print a few designs before settling on this one. This was his 1st multi-piece print. I did not know what he was printing, I simply said, "print me something useful" and a few days later he said, "watch this", pulls out a soda can and his fresh 3D print and with one pull of a trigger, he pops the top to my favorite beverage."
