Deputies Rescue Driver From Car Submerged in Retention Pond

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — St. Johns County deputies rescued a man from a sinking vehicle after it plunged into a retention pond at the Southeast Library Branch on Nov. 18, authorities said.

Deputies arrived to find the car submerged and immediately broke a window to reach the trapped driver. They pulled him from the vehicle as it continued to take on water.

St. Johns County Fire Rescue treated the man for minor cuts and bruises. No other injuries were reported.
