Storyline: Chinese premier meets heads of major international economic organizations [Voice_over] Chinese Premier Li Qiang has held a “1+10” dialogue in Beijing with leaders of major international economic organizations. They focused on global economic governance, amid rising protectionism. The meeting brought together the heads of the IMF, World Bank, WTO, UNCTAD, ILO, BIS, the Financial Stability Board, the OECD, the New Development Bank, and the AIIB. Premier Li says President Xi Jinping's Global Governance Initiative provides China’s approach to tackling global challenges, adding that openness and cooperation are essential to improving global economic governance. He says China remains committed to opening-up, and is confident about meeting its annual development goals. Li noted that the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan will guide China’s next stage of growth, with industrial upgrading and expanding demand creating new opportunities. The participating leaders say China’s new planning cycle will inject confidence and momentum into global development. They praised China’s support for multilateralism and the Global South, and say they are ready to deepen cooperation with China to promote shared development.
