Mass burial of victims of landslides and flash floods in Indonesia
A mass burial was held for 24 victims of the flash floods in West Sumatra on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The mass burial was held because the 24 victims could not be identified.
The burial will take place at the Bungus Teluk Kabung Public Cemetery in Padang.
The Head of the West Sumatra Provincial Social Service, Syaifullah, explained that the 24 bodies to be offered funeral prayers are those whose identities and families have not been identified.
The flash flood disaster in West Sumatra claimed 251 lives, of which 238 have been successfully evacuated, while 93 remain missing.
