This is the stunning moment a free diver glided through hundreds of sardine fish.

Care Anne Escuro dove into a school of fish clustered near the surface of the water at the Moalboal Sardines Run in Cebu, the Philippines.

Footage shows the holidaymaker paddling toward the creatures, causing them to scatter away from her on December 7.

She then swam towards the cameraman and signaled him to take her out of the water when she began to lose her breath.

Care said: 'This was my first time to free dive. Before the activity, we were instructed on what to do and what to signal if I needed assistance.

'During my first try, I couldn't hold my breath long enough. I panicked and forgot the sign. Luckily, I was near the cameraman who took my hand and brought me back to the surface.'
