An extremely calm driver managed to pull over just as he suffered a stroke while on a video call with his wife.

Pu Apirat had been travelling while chatting with his partner when he suddenly felt numbness spreading throughout his body in Prachinburi, Thailand.

Dramatic dashcam footage shows Pu slowing down before stopping safely at the side of the road. His speech began to slur as he struggled to respond.

Moments later, he started to convulse, lying across the passenger seat while shaking uncontrollably.

His wife, still on the video call, panicked as Pu slipped out of the camera's view on December 6.

Pu said: 'While driving, I suddenly felt numbness and tingling, and my speech became slurred.

'I quickly told my girlfriend, who was on a video call, that I felt numbness and tingling. She quickly told me to pull over. Suddenly, my body began to convulse, as seen in the video.'

Pu's wife called for help, and a friend located the husband's car half an hour later to rush him to the hospital.

The driver added: 'About 30 minutes after the convulsions, a friend picked me up and took me to the hospital.'

Pu was diagnosed with a blocked cerebral artery, a major blood vessel in the brain that became clogged, and was given medicine.

He said: 'I was prescribed with blood-thinning medication. I have now returned home.'

Pu was also advised to take physical therapy. He said: 'The doctor said I should have frequent exercise, adequate rest. Taking care of your health is important.'
