This is the dramatic moment a rampaging passenger allegedly refused to board a plane as he attacked ground staff in Vietnam.

The man was said to have gone berserk while passengers on Vietnam Airlines flight VN607 were settling in on December 4.

Footage shows ground crew battling to restrain the large-built man, seen wearing a white shirt, who was rampaging on the tarmac at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in in Ho Chi Minh City.

It took three four men to subdue him. Police later arrived to haul him away.

Filmer Pipat Khumchompoo said: ‘The incident happened on December 4 at the airport at around 6pm. Our flight was VN607.

'A passenger had already boarded from the gate and taken the bus to the aircraft, but then refused to get on the plane and started arguing with the ground staff, as seen in the clip.

'It took around 30 minutes to sort things out, which delayed the flight by about 30 minutes.

‘I was shocked. He seemed so powerful that it took a lot of staff to handle him.

'I'm not sure if it was panic or something else that made him refuse to board, but in the end the staff managed to restrain him.

'Finally, we arrived in Bangkok safely.'

Data from flight monitoring website FlightAware showed that the plane was delayed for an hour and one minute. It arrived at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok at 7:31 pm local time.
