This is the heartwarming moment a girl was overcome with a mixture of terror and joy as her boyfriend proposed on a 1,000ft rope walk bridge.

Lindsay Bugay was crying with fear as she shuffled along the terrifying attraction, which stretches across the O Quy Ho mountain pass in Sapa, Vietnam.

Her boyfriend Onnie Jules Martinez was following behind while carefully walking the yellow planks as thick mist swirled around the sides of the mountain on December 30.

Lindsay could be heard screaming in fear as she caught glimpses of the sheer drop through the clouds.

However, when they reached the middle, Onnie called out to her and dropped to one knee while holding out an engagement ring.
Lindsay, who was a few feet ahead and still looking down at the valley floor in a panic, did not notice at first.

Onnie called her name multiple times, urging her to turn around. When she finally did, she was visibly shocked as Onnie asked: 'Babe, will you marry me?'

The surrounding crowds erupted into cheers, in awe of the breathtaking proposal.

Bursting into tears, Lindsay walked back towards him and said 'yes'.

Onnie then placed the ring on her finger before taking photographs of his fiancée.

Onnie said: 'We've been together for five years, and I decided it was time for us to settle down and start a family. I planned this proposal to be the highlight of our holiday.'
