Buy video

Here is a timelapse I got of last nights Aurora display which was the first real Aurora of the season but my second display of this current season.

The timelapse was took on a DSLR camera a Canon 1200d and was shot between 11:00pm and 2:30pm Tuesday night into Wednesday morning 23rd and 24th of August.

This display was down to a CIR region on the Sun as Earth passes through a stream of solar wind filled with negative polarity (-Bz) magnetic fields. The ongoing disturbance has sparked some of the first auroras of the season over Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

This was took from Ballyshannon Co.Donegal Ireland
