Amusing footage has emerged from Greece of a man waking up his cat with food.

The video, filmed in Skidra earlier today, shows General the cat waking up suddenly as soon as his owner holds food near him.

The filmer later wrote online: "I found a new way to wake up my cat General when he sits on the sofa and won't let me sit there.

"Actually he is like me when I sit in my room and I smell food in the kitchen :-)."
