Demolition of the Grain Power Station Chimney in Kent
On Wednesday 7th September 2016 at precisely 11am the 801 ft tall chimney at Grain Power station was demolished and reduced to 40,000 tonnes of rubble. It is the tallest concrete structure ever demolished. It was a very prominent feature on the Medway skyline and will be missed by many. A lot of people came to watch the demolition - by foot, boat and helicopter.
