Footage of a ten-year-old girl being surprised by her mum with a puppy on her birthday.

The video, filmed in Auckland, New Zealand on September 13, shows the girl coming into her bedroom to find the cute dog waiting for her.

Her reaction if priceless and full of emotion.

"This video has been years in the making," the girl's mother wrote online.

"My daughter has wanted a lil puppy since she was five years old but I said that I wouldn't get one for her until she was ready for the responsibility.

"I said maybe when you turn ten we will see [and] this year was her tenth birthday and I knew she was ready for her lil dream to come true," she continued.

"She has been puppy/dog/animal crazy from a young age and has waited so long that I knew she would be the happiest little girl in the world the day she got one.

"I decided to keep it a secret and have one waiting for her when she got home from school as I knew how big of a moment it would be I thought I'd capture it on camera.

"To see my daughter cry happy tears of joy for a puppy she had longed for for a long time was worth all the waiting.

"As a mother, there's nothing more satisfying than to make their dreams come true is something that makes me so happy, and I'd love to share it with the world."
