A shocking video has emerged from China of a driver crashing into a police officer and a pedestrian at a crossroads, causing severe injuries.

The CCTV footage, captured in Fuyang, Anhui Province on Monday, shows the fast-moving vehicle hit the policeman, knocking him at least ten metres across the tarmac, before careening into a woman crossing the road.

The officer was severely injured and required immediate hospital treatment but he is expected to survive.

The woman was also injured and taken to hospital.

Police are still investigating the incident.

Shocking footage, from China, of a driver answering phone while driving crashing a police officer and a passerby.

The CCTV video, filmed in Fuyang, Anhui Province on Monday, shows a black car crashing into a police officer in fast speed and then bumping into a female passerby crossing the road.

The police officer flies into the air and flips three laps before falling down onto the ground.

According to local reports, the car driver Mr Zhang was answering the phone when he was driving, then he pressed the accelerator instead of brake by mistake.

Although the police officer was injured severely, the female passerby and him were both out of danger.

The case was in further investigation.
