In the wake of all online footage of violent encounters with wild elephants, I would like to share one of my many encounters - so commonly experienced also by others, perhaps especially by visitors to one of the gem African national parks, Kruger - that went so well, so peaceful and yet so full of might and leaving you with a grandeur sense of being part of nature!These guys, the largest, heaviest and most powerful beings on land, truly dictate the rule of engagement. If we just behave accordingly, an encounter, even a close one, will have a peaceful and calm outcome. In the wild, without a rifle, we are not calling the calls, we just have to fall in line and behave! When you meet an elephant this close, you just know that is true!
