A cool video has emerged of a man using a huge wooden slingshot to hurl a bowling ball through the air.

The footage, captured by German Youtube slingshot enthusiast Jörg Sprave, shows the wooden device being used to hurl the bowling ball 100 metres away.

Sprave then gets seasonal and fires a pumpkin out of the device, which travels an incredible distance.

"Interesting effect! The ball travelled about 100 meters, and at a shooting angle of around 40 degrees, it would certainly travel well over 130 meters," Sprave wrote online.

The bowling ball launcher was a success, but many people wanted to see it shooting over a longer distance. So we reconvened, hoisted it up to 23,5 degrees and also increased the rubber draw force from 350 kg to about 580 kg.
