driving on various roads in extreme southwest Iceland on Reykjanes peninsula, some dirt roads, some paved roads.

rented a KIA Sorrento 4x4 SUV . Some unpaved roads are better driven in a large SUV. But note that real off-road driving is not allowed in Iceland. You need 4x4 in winter frequently, but also in summer there are some wild dirt roads, named 'F-roads' in Iceland that can only be driven on with a F-road certified car. They may include river crossings.

in this video there is some dirt road driving but none that wild.
