Footage has emerged of Mount Etna's Bocca Nuova crater collapsed on Monday.

The video, shot by photographer Giuseppe Distefano, shows the crater filled with rocks after its floor collapse on Tuesday following an explosion.

"After the last eruption occurred [in] May 2016, Bocca Nuova, one of the four summit craters of Mount Etna, has been filled by lava until the rim," the photographer wrote online, as it is believe this incident is linked to the collapse.
