Dramatic footage has emerged from China of the moment a lorry transporting thousands of eggs burst into flames on a motorway, frying the contents of its trailer.

The video, filmed in Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province last Friday, initially shows the lorry on fire while later we see fire fighters working to extinguish the blaze.

According to local reports, at least 38,000 eggs were completely fried, but forty boxes managed to escape the flames.

Trailer driver stopped his trailer on motorway when he found that the brake pump was too hot.

However, the fire came out of the rear tyre when he just stopped the trailer.

At least 38,000 eggs were burned, while only 40 out of 1100 boxes of eggs left.

The loose was at least 11,000 GBP.

The fire was controlled after 20 minutes.
