Rescue of Man Who Falls Through Ice
STORYLINE
Chinese emergency services carried out a dramatic rescue on Tuesday of a man who had fallen through the ice on frozen river in Liaoning Province.
The man, who gave his name only as Mr Gao, said he had out exercising and decided to take a shortcut home across the frozen Hun River when the ice broke and he fell into the water.
Gao was in the water for about one hour before rescuers managed to pull him out with sticks and ropes.
