I was driving my daughter and partner to Coventry from our home in North Devon when I encountered a driver who appeared to be drunk.

Upon approaching the roundabout to join the M5 at J27 the driver slowed down for no apparent reason so I overtook him and proceeded upon my journey up the M5 motorway.

What happened next was that we were targeted by the driver in a series of dangerous manoeuvres, threatening us by making his hand into a gun shape, throwing a bottle out of his car at us and at one stage looking like he was about to park sideways across the motorway.

The police finally stopped him and he did not look at us even once as he was placed in the back of the police car, upon being tested at the police station he was found to be twice the legal drink drive limit and serving a current driving ban for drink driving.
