Footage has emerged from China of a four-year-old boy wandering onto a motorway by mistake, while looking for his parents.

The video, filmed in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province on December 11, shows a police officer and a local villager carrying the boy away from the road, before helping him to find his mum and dad.

It took them an hour, but they did eventually reunite the boy with his parents.

Footage has emerged from China of police officers helping a four-year-old boy walking on motorway alone find his parents.

The video, filmed in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hunan Province on December 11, shows a police officer and a villager carrying the boy to leave the motorway and trying to help him find his parents.

The boy walked onto motorway by mistake and his parents thought he just went to meet his uncle.

After an hour, police contacted with the boy's mother successfully.
