Reporter Reward Programme

Welcome to our Reporter Reward Programme which has been designed to reward you for your contributions.

It works in a very simple way. You do things that are good for Newsflare, such as submit a great clip that gets lots of good ratings and in return we award you with some Newsflare points. Now, Newsflare points are not like your supermarket shop points or like the kind of points that you can exchange for money-off. Rather, they are more like the 'tier points' you might know from many airline frequent-flier schemes.

As you become more active and proficient at capturing and submitting newsworthy video clips, eventually you will collect enough Newsflare points to achieve the next 'tier' or what we call member-level. Whenever you achieve a new member-level, we let you know via a notification on the site, by sending you an email and by changing the badge that accompanies your profile, clips and comments across the site.

Each membership level allows you benefits above and beyond the previous one. Benefits range from access to extra features on the Newsflare website through to an increased share from the sale of any of your clips, as shown on the table below.

What you keep from the sale price of a video (before VAT)

Your membership level is also something that News Organisations may consider when setting assignments. For example a major broadcaster may set an assignment that is only eligible to "Silver" members or above as they anticipate a high response and want to ensure a greater level of quality.

We fully expect the Reporter Reward Programme to develop as Newsflare grows, however we commit to giving you good notice of when this is going to happen and through any future development, one principle will certainly prevail; the principle of rewarding you for your contributions.
