Dramatic footage has emerged from the UK of bikers and pedestrians helping an injured man out of an overturned vehicle.

The video, captured in Barnet, London on Tuesday, shows the filmer getting off his motorcycle and approaching the car, which had crashed and flipped onto its back.

Along with some pedestrians, the filmer helps the injured driver out of the vehicle, and switches the ignition off.

"Thankfully [the driver] escaped the wreck with only a cut mouth and a bit of shock," the filmer wrote online.

"In the time after the crash people were driving past recording the scene on their mobile phones so I acted as a 'Traffic Controller' to keep everybody moving and reduce congestion as much as I could."

Talking about the cause of the accident, he said "of course there were various speculative reasons as to who was a fault and how it happened. Nevertheless the only one that will ever know exactly what happened is the driver and hopefully he can learn from this in some shape or form."

"I'm just glad the driver made it out alive and unscathed and nobody else was injured, god forbid if someone was on that zebra crossing. Drive safe out there!" he added.
