Firefighters are tackling a huge inferno that has broken out at a plastics recycling centre and is feared to be spreading toxic fumes across the area. Incredible pictures and footage show massive plumes of black smoke rising out of the building and filling the sky. Six crews dashed to Hanbury Plastics centre in Milton, Stoke-on-Trent, at 9.30am yesterday (Sat) after the service received 78 calls in ten minutes about the blaze. Football matches on a nearby playing field were called off due to the potentially toxic fumes and residents could see the fire from over five miles away.
