Shocking CCTV footage has emerged from China of a horse galloping onto a main road and hitting a car.

The footage, captured on Saturday in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, shows the rider desperately trying to control his horse as it suddenly runs out onto the busy road.

The horse can be seen running straight into a vehicle, and falling over the bonnet.

According to local reports, the rider - named Yu - was taken to hospital afterwards, while the horse escaped.

In the CCTV video, captured in Nantong, Jiangsu Province on January 28, an out-of-control horse with a man riding on its back rushes into the middle of the road and crashes into a car.

According to local media, the man named Yu rode his horse back home from his horse farm.

However, the horse suddenly lost control and ran into the traffic as well as hit on a car.

Yu fell off the horse and was sent to hospital. While, the car was damaged badly.
