A scary video has emerged of a man losing control over his vehicle while driving on an icy road in Montreal, Canada.

The footage, shot on Wednesday, captures the moment the driver starts picking up speed as he drives downhill before he manages to slide turn to a stop.

"But someone on the adjacent hill obviously had the same problem and got into a serious accident," he wrote.

The blizzard has hit Montreal HARD! Here I was driving down a hill, and not only could I not stop, but I actually kept picking up speed. I was lucky to have been able to weave around cars and slide turn to a stop. But someone on the adjacent hill obviously had the same problem and got into a serious accident (as can be seen from the four fire trucks, ambulance and police cars). The blizzard was pure madness!
