Grey Nurse Shark Caught with Fishing Hook
We were diving off Shellharbour, Australia when we noticed this Grey Nurse Shark with a hook attached to its mouth dragging behind some of the line. Shellharbour used to be a marine protected area and has most recently been taken off the protected list.
Grey Nurse Sharks are rapidly becoming an endangered species and this place is notorious for spotting them, we saw at least 9!
We did not have the proper equipment to release the poor shark, but luckily other divers went on a mission to try and save it.
