One of the oldest and most iconic events in the sporting calendar.

The Boat Race course, known as the Championship Course is 4 miles, 374 yards or 6.8 Km long. It stretches between Putney and Mortlake on the River Thames in South West London.

The annual battle first took place in 1829 and and sets the two university boat clubs against each other in a four-and-a-quarter-mile race to the finish line near Chiswick Bridge.

The Championship Course has been the setting for the head-to-head for over 170 years and stretches from Putney to Mortlake, with the crews travelling east to west past Hammersmith and towards Richmond.
