Bizarre footage has emerged from China of a car driving on a motorway with its bonnet open, potentially blocking the driver's view.

The video, filmed Nanning, Guangxi Province on Thursday, shows the vehicle moving along the road as if nothing is wrong, while another driver shouts "Your car bonnet is open".

According to local reports, he opened his bonnet to cool his engine down but decided to drive with it still open.

In the video, captured in Nanning, Guangxi Province last Thursday, a car drives on motorway with its bonnet open.

While, the driver in another car passing by shouts at it, 'Your car bonnet is open! This is on motorway brother! Brother! Calm down...'

Because the car driver realised his car bonnet had smoke coming out and the engine was hot, he had to open his car bonnet to let the engine cool down.

However, he couldn't stop his car on the side of the road because of the traffic, he drove his car forward carefully with the bonnet open.
