A landslide on Monday (August 28) buried dozens of homes in southern China, killing at least three people and leaving dozens missing, according to local officials.

The side of a mountain crashed down on the homes of at least 28 families on the outskirts of the city of Bijie.

There was no word on the cause, although southern China has been hit in recent days by a pair of typhoons.

Dramatic footage has emerged from China of massive landslide burying a village at the foot of a mountain killing at least three.

The video, captured in Bijie, Guizhou Province on August 28, shows the mud and rocks tumbling down a hill gradually until half of it collapsing.

More than 2000 rescuers, 17 large machineries, 80 vehicles, eight drones and seven rescue dogs were working on scene.

At least 28 households were buried. While, three out of ten rescued people died and other seven were sent to hospital.

32 more people were still missing.
