Scary footage has emerged of a huge tree being taken down by Hurricane Irma in Englewood, FL, USA.

The video, shot on September 10, shows the tree being uprooted by strong gusts of wind and falling down to the ground.

"Started videoing what I thought would be the tree branches swaying, but ended up with a +90 ft tree completely being uprooted and falling on power lines," the filmer wrote online.

"The Eucalyptus tree's root bundle is over 20ft in diameter and nearly reaches the height of the telephone pole."

"So thankful it did not fall on the house," he added.
