A bizarre video has emerged from California of a motorcyclist flagging down a driver who has a fuel hose still attached to her car.

In the clip, which was filmed in Oxnard, California, the motorcyclist points out the hose to the driver who is clearly very embarrassed when she realises she must have driven out of the petrol station, tearing the hose from the pump.

The motorcyclist then removes the hose, screws the fuel cap back in place and throws the hose by the side of the road.

"I later returned in my car picked up the hose and returned it to the USA Gas gas station that was about a quarter mile down the street where the video was taken," the filmer wrote online.

Video was taken in Oxnard, CA. I was just riding around town on my way home. That's when I saw something falling off the car I didn't know what it was until I got closer. With the help of the SUV that slowed her down and got her to stop, I removed the hose and let her go on her way. Comforting her as she started crying I said "You're good.... It's okay!"
