The video, captured from the inside of their car on October 9, shows the wildfire raging in the forest very close to the highway.

The couple can be heard screaming:

'Oh my god'

'Holly s***'

''This is the scariest thing I have ever encountered,'' the filmer later wrote online.

''This is us driving down the highway to save our dogs.''

''We honestly thought they were dead but we saved them and evacuated in time.''

''Lost everything but it's our lives that matter the most,'' he added.

According to reports, at least 10 people were killed and 100 people have been reported missing.

More than 1,500 buildings were destroyed.

The fire, that started on Tubbs Lane near Calistoga, has grown 35,000 acres and has spread into Sonoma County and Santa Rosa.
