2x easy jet emergency landings in an hour at manchester airport because of storm ophelia
2 emergency landings from 2 different easy jet planes at manchester airport within an hour.
one was due to land at manchester and declared an emergency upon approach, the other took off from manchester on its way to hamburg and turned back over the north east of england having declared an emergency
both aircraft saying they had fumes in the cockpit and cabin and this was due to the ash and smoke that storm ophelia had brought up from the sahara.
both landings were met by fire crews and escorted to their respective gates.
the hamburg flight took off again albeit on a different aircraft
took place between 2-3pm on monday 16th october 2017
