Footage has emerged of a martial arts master apparently setting a new world record by smashing 302 walnuts in 55 seconds.

The video, shot in Foshan City in southern China's Guangdong Province on November 1, shows the kung fu expert Li Weijun using his bare hands to crush walnuts at lightning speed.

According to local reports, Li broke 302 walnuts in 55.87secs, which if recognised would beat the existing Guinness World Record set only weeks earlier by an Indian, who reportedly crushed 212 walnuts in a minute.
