Dashcam footage has emerged of a Ferrari 458 GT3 being hit by a Porsche GT2R during a qualifying session for the "Extreme Supercars" race series.

The video, shot on November 3 at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa, captures the moment Craig Jarvis, 46, was hit by a Porsche and his Ferrari was sent rolling down the track by the impact.

Fortunately, Jarvis was uninjured in the incident

High speed collision between a Ferrari 458 GT3 and a Porsche GT2R during qualifying session, resulting in crash and multiple rolls.
1. This is a qualifying session for a race series called "Extreme Supercars". Qualifying sessions in motor racing involve getting the best lap time possible, and these laps times determine the starting grid, i.e. the order in which cars line up for the actual race. During qualifying sessions cars try to stay away from each other in order to achieve the best lap time, so collisions are rare.

2. The Ferrari 458 GT3 was driven by me, Craig Jarvis, age 46. I would prefer not to name the other driver.

5. I filmed it. My GoPro "session" camera was mounted to the roll cage of the car.

6. I was hit by the Porsche.

7. The car was written off. I was uninjured in the accident, which is a great testimony to the safety standards of GT3 cars (particularly Ferrari) as well as the circuit.
