This is the moment a house in Ventura city, California, collapses after being consumed in a fireball.

In the short video, filmed at 1.45am on Tuesday (December 5) by Ventura resident Justin Clarke, a house is ablaze. The roof falls off the structure before the entire house is engulfed in a fireball.

The silhouettes of two locals can be seen in the foreground, watching on.

The so-called Thomas Fire has since Monday ripped through Ventura County, which lies north of Los Angeles, and according reports triggered evacuation orders for some 150,000 people.
