Maldives Manta Cleaning Station
Scuba diving heaven! First one, then another, then a third manta ray arrive at a cleaning station in North Mal'e, Maldives. You can see how they swim slowly over this special area where reef fish come up and clean parasites off the mantas. Usually I would have observed from further away but these animals were clearly unconcerned and even curious about my presence. These are Manta alfredi - the smaller of the two species that inhabit this area.
This is almost a single take on my GoPro, except I cut out about 10 seconds where I had to acknowledge a low gas alarm on my dive computer and signal to my buddies that I was ascending.
