A cat’s epic fail at trying to catch a bird out of mid-air resulted in a splash landing at a home in North Yorkshire, England.

A CCTV camera shows the cat named Sam hiding in garden pipes waiting for a bird to drop out of the sky in front of him. Eventually, a jackdaw flies just above him and he can't resist trying to catch it. Sam leaps up, misses the bird and then lands in a backyard pond.

The owner said that Sam “is a real troublemaker and is willing to tackle anything without thinking it through with the consequences often being hilarious.”

The footage was shot in April 2017.
